Planning your wedding is such a special time—but let’s be honest, figuring out the legal stuff can feel a bit overwhelming. Don’t worry, that’s exactly what I’m here to help with.
Here’s the good news: in Australia, getting legally married is simpler than it sounds. You just need to follow a few key steps, and I’ll guide you through every one of them.
Lodge a Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least one month before the wedding.
Provide your original ID documents (like your passport or birth certificate).
Say the legal vows during your ceremony (yep, there are exact words we have to include).
Sign your official marriage paperwork on the day with two witnesses.
I’ll then register your marriage with the government on your behalf.
That’s it! If you’ve got a great celebrant (hi! 👋), the process is simple, smooth, and stress-free—just like it should be.
