Just Auspicious Marriage Celebrant Services

Marriage & Wedding Celebrant Perth

Your wedding ceremony should feel personal, meaningful and true to who you are as a couple.

As a Civil Marriage Celebrant in Perth, I work with couples to create wedding ceremonies that reflect their relationship, personalities, families and cultural backgrounds. Whether you are planning an intimate legal ceremony, a large wedding celebration or a multilingual ceremony bringing two families and cultures together, I can guide you through both the legal requirements and the creation of your ceremony.

Fluent in English, Mandarin and Cantonese, I also specialise in multicultural weddings where language and cultural understanding are an important part of bringing everyone together.

Marriage Celebrant Services in Perth

Every couple has a different idea of what their wedding ceremony should look and feel like. My celebrant services can be tailored around your plans, from simple marriage registration through to a fully personalised wedding ceremony.

Civil & Non-Religious Wedding Ceremonies

Your wedding does not need to follow a religious format to be meaningful.

As your non-religious wedding officiant, I can help create a civil wedding ceremony centred around your relationship, values and story while ensuring the legal requirements for marriage in Australia are met.

Your ceremony can be intimate and simple or include personalised vows, readings, family involvement and cultural traditions.

Registration of Marriage & Legal Wedding Ceremonies

Want to keep things simple?

I offer Registration of Marriage (ROM) and wedding ceremonies for couples who want to complete the legal requirements of marriage without organising a large traditional wedding.

You can choose a straightforward signing ceremony or personalise the occasion with your own vows and meaningful elements.

Multilingual Wedding Ceremonies

When families speak different languages, I can conduct your ceremony in English, Mandarin or Cantonese, or seamlessly combine multiple languages so everyone feels included.

Ideal for Chinese-Australian and multicultural weddings, my multilingual celebrant services help family and guests understand, participate in and enjoy your ceremony.

Same-Sex Marriage Celebrant

Every couple deserves a ceremony that celebrates their relationship authentically.

My same-sex marriage celebrant services provide an inclusive and personalised approach to creating a ceremony that reflects you as a couple.

Commitment Ceremonies

A commitment ceremony allows couples to celebrate their love and commitment without entering into a legal marriage.

Your ceremony can still include vows, readings, family participation, symbolic rituals and many of the elements associated with a wedding ceremony.

Vow Renewal Ceremonies

Celebrate the journey you've already shared together with a personalised vow renewal ceremony.

Whether you're celebrating an important anniversary or simply want an opportunity to reaffirm your commitment, we can create a ceremony that reflects your relationship today.

What Does a Marriage Celebrant Do?

A marriage celebrant's role involves much more than standing at the front of your wedding ceremony.

As your celebrant, I can help you understand the marriage process, prepare the required documentation and develop a ceremony that reflects the experience you want to create.

This can include:

  • Explaining the legal marriage requirements
  • Assisting with the Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM)
  • Checking required identity and supporting documents
  • Discussing your ceremony style and structure
  • Helping develop your ceremony wording
  • Incorporating personal vows, readings and cultural elements
  • Discussing whether a rehearsal is appropriate
  • Conducting the legal marriage ceremony
  • Completing and submitting the required marriage documentation

Registered marriage celebrants are also subject to a professional Code of Practice covering matters including service standards, document accuracy, privacy, legal compliance and providing couples with guidance about creating their ceremony.

How to Get Married in Perth

While every wedding is different, the legal marriage process generally follows several key stages.

1. Choose Your Marriage Celebrant

Your marriage must be solemnised by an authorised marriage celebrant.

We'll first discuss your wedding plans, ceremony style, location, date and any cultural or language requirements.

2. Complete Your Notice of Intended Marriage

You generally need to provide your celebrant with a completed Notice of Intended Marriage (NOIM) at least one month before your wedding and no more than 18 months beforehand.

The NOIM can now be witnessed in person or, subject to the applicable requirements, remotely by audio-visual communication.

3. Plan Your Ceremony

This is where we turn the legal requirements into your wedding ceremony.

We can discuss your:

  • Ceremony structure
  • Story as a couple
  • Vows
  • Readings
  • Music
  • Family involvement
  • Languages
  • Chinese or other cultural traditions

4. Prepare for Your Wedding Day

Before the marriage is solemnised, an authorised celebrant is required to meet separately and in person with each party to the marriage. Your celebrant will also confirm the necessary documentation and ceremony arrangements.

5. Get Married

On your wedding day, I'll conduct your ceremony and guide you through the required legal components alongside all the personal elements we've created together.

The authorised celebrant, couple and two witnesses must be physically present for the marriage ceremony.

English, Mandarin & Cantonese Marriage Celebrant

Language can be especially important when a wedding brings together families from different backgrounds.

I can conduct ceremonies in:

  • English
  • Mandarin
  • Cantonese
  • Or a combination of these languages

Rather than simply translating every sentence word-for-word, we can structure the ceremony so that it flows naturally while allowing important moments to be understood by both families.

My existing Chinese celebrant service is specifically positioned around combining Eastern traditions and values with modern Australian weddings.

Chinese & Multicultural Wedding Celebrant Perth

For multicultural couples, creating the right ceremony can involve balancing family traditions with the wedding you personally want.

My experience across both Eastern and Western cultures allows us to incorporate traditions in a way that feels natural rather than simply adding them for the sake of tradition.

If you are incorporating Chinese wedding customs, I can also assist with your Chinese wedding tea ceremony, including modern and traditional tea ceremonies.

Celebrant + Wedding MC Services

Your ceremony may only be the beginning of your wedding day.

As both a marriage celebrant and professional Wedding MC in Perth, I can help create continuity between your wedding ceremony and reception.

Instead of handing the celebration from one person to another, couples can choose to have me conduct their ceremony and continue as MC for the reception.

This can be particularly valuable for bilingual and multicultural weddings because the same language style, pronunciation, family relationships and cultural considerations established during the ceremony can continue throughout the reception.

Why Choose Lin Tan as Your Perth Marriage Celebrant?

I believe a great celebrant should help guests understand who you are as a couple—not simply conduct the legal components of your wedding.

My approach combines:

1. Personalisation

Your ceremony is created around your relationship and the atmosphere you want.

2. Multilingual Capability

Ceremonies can incorporate English, Mandarin and Cantonese.

3. Cross-Cultural Understanding

Eastern traditions can be thoughtfully combined with contemporary Australian weddings.

4. Professional MC Experience

If required, I can continue from your ceremony into your reception as your Wedding MC.

5. Experience With Diverse Ceremonies

From intimate civil weddings and multicultural ceremonies to vow renewals, commitment ceremonies and same-sex weddings.

Marriage Celebrant Perth FAQs

How far in advance should we book a marriage celebrant?

Popular wedding dates can book well in advance, so it's worth contacting your preferred celebrant as soon as you know your likely wedding date.

From a legal perspective, your NOIM generally needs to be provided at least one month before your wedding and no more than 18 months beforehand.

Can we customise our wedding ceremony?

Yes. Beyond the required legal components, there is considerable opportunity to personalise your ceremony with your story, vows, readings, music, family participation and cultural traditions.

Can our ceremony be in Mandarin or Cantonese?

Yes. I can conduct wedding ceremonies in English, Mandarin or Cantonese, or incorporate multiple languages into the ceremony.

Can you be both our marriage celebrant and Wedding MC?

Yes. I provide both marriage celebrant and professional Wedding MC services, allowing couples to create a more consistent experience between their ceremony and reception.

Do we need to be Australian citizens to get married in Perth?

No. Australian citizenship or permanent residency is not itself a requirement for getting married in Australia. Other legal marriage requirements still apply.

Can we have a simple legal wedding without a large ceremony?

Yes. If you don't want a traditional wedding, consider my Registration of Marriage and Wedding Ceremony service for a simpler approach.
