What Documents Do We Need to Show You? 需要出示哪些证件？

Your Legal Wedding Checklist 

When we catch up to do your paperwork, one of the key steps is checking your ID and legal documents. It’s a simple part of the process—but super important to make sure your marriage is valid.

Here’s what you’ll need to bring:

✅ You must provide either:

• A valid passport (Australian or overseas)
  OR

• An official birth certificate

One of these is required under Australian law to verify your date and place of birth.

🆔 You may also provide one of the following photo IDs to support your application:

• Driver licence

• Australian proof of age or photo card

• Australian citizenship certificate (with accompanying photo ID)

• Tertiary student ID card (with full name and photo)

If either of you have been married before, I’ll also need to see evidence that the previous marriage has legally ended. That means:

• A divorce certificate, or

• A death certificate of your previous spouse

If any of your documents are not in English, they’ll need to be translated into English by a certified translator.

And don’t worry if you don’t have everything ready in one go. I can start the process and lodge your Notice of Intended Marriage with just one valid ID. The rest of the documents can be provided any time before your big day.

我们在见面填写结婚资料时，其中一个重要步骤就是核对你们的身份证明和法律文件。这一步虽然简单，但对确保婚姻的法律有效性至关重要。

以下是你们需要准备的文件：

✅ 必须提供以下两者之一：

• 有效的护照（澳洲或其他国家的均可）
  或

• 官方的出生证明

根据澳洲婚姻法律，必须提供护照或出生证明其中之一，用于确认出生日期和地点。

🆔 你还可以提供以下其中一种带照片的身份证件，用以支持你的申请：

• 驾照

• 澳洲年龄证明卡或照片身份证

• 澳洲公民证书（需配合其他带照片的身份证件）

• 大学或高等教育学生证（带姓名和照片）

如果你们其中一方曾经结过婚，还需要出示前段婚姻已终止的证明文件：

• 离婚证明，或

• 前配偶的死亡证明

如果你提供的文件不是英文版，那需要附上由认证翻译人员翻译成英文的文件。
