One of the great things about getting married in Australia is how flexible it can be. You’re not limited to a courthouse or a traditional venue—you’ve got options. Lots of them!
But couples often ask: “Are there any legal limits on where we can get married?” Let’s clear that up together.
In short—yes!
As long as your wedding is conducted by an authorised celebrant, you can legally marry:
In a park or garden
On a beach
At home in your living room or backyard
At a winery, restaurant, or private property
On a boat, a rooftop, or even beneath your favourite tree
There’s no restriction on the type of venue, as long as:
Your celebrant agrees to attend the location
The setting is safe, respectful, and appropriate
You have two witnesses over 18 years old present
Do note that some public spaces (like beaches or national parks) might require a permit from the local council or venue manager.
As your celebrant, I’m here to assist and deliver a personalised, meaningful ceremony—but I don’t provide full wedding planning services (such as venue hire or vendor bookings). That said:
💛 If you're after something small and simple, I offer a Small & Intimate Backyard Package at my own home—perfect for couples wanting a relaxed and lovely moment with 10 guests or fewer.
🤍 If you’re just looking to make your marriage legal without a full ceremony, I also offer Legals-Only appointments at my home office. All you need to bring are your documents and two adult witnesses—we’ll keep it simple and official.
✨ And if you're still figuring out your ideal location or need help with styling and coordination, I’m happy to refer you to some wonderful wedding planners I know and trust.
Make sure your chosen location is safe, accessible, and comfortable
If you’re planning an outdoor ceremony, have a weather backup plan
Consider the needs of elderly guests or those with mobility concerns
For symbolic ceremonies, you can get even more creative with your setting
One of the best parts of being a celebrant is seeing how couples make their day their own—whether that’s barefoot on a beach, in a quiet backyard, or at a public park where you shared your first date.

只要婚礼由一位持证婚姻注册官主持，你们就可以在以下地点合法结婚：
公园或花园
沙滩
自家的客厅或后院
餐厅、酒庄或私人住宅
游艇、天台，甚至一棵你们心仪的大树下
没有强制的场地限制，但需要满足以下条件：
主婚人愿意在该地点主持仪式
场地安全、适宜、对他人尊重
有两位年满18岁的见证人出席
如果是在公共场地（如国家公园或海滩），可能需要申请许可，但这类流程我可以协助你们了解和办理。
作为你们的婚姻注册官，我负责为你们的结婚注册和主持婚礼仪式，但我不提供完整的婚礼策划服务（例如预订场地、布置、摄影等）。不过，我提供以下几种额外服务：
💛 如果你们只想要一个简单温馨的小型婚礼，我欢迎你们选择我的后花园小型结婚注册配套，适合不超过10位宾客的亲密仪式，轻松又充满爱意。
🤍 如果你们只想完成法律程序而不举办完整婚礼，我也提供仅仅只是结婚领证，不办仪式的法律结婚注册服务，就在我办公的地方进行。当天，你只需要带上两位见证人过来完成这步骤就可以了。
✨ 如果你们需要找场地或策划服务，我也乐意推荐一些值得信赖的婚礼策划师给你们。
